We strive for excellence in every project that we do.

Here at Taniguchi Builders LLC, we are a team of like-minded individuals. We all have the same mentality, “there’s only one way to do things, the right way.”

A few words from the Owner:

Aloha, my name is Wrenworth “Wren” Taniguchi. I’m the owner of Taniguchi Builders LLC. I have been working in the trade for over 30 years. I am a second generation contractor. My father Sinclair Taniguchi was a general contractor for over 35 years. My father made a name for himself over the years and was known as someone who did outstanding quality work at a fair price. People would wait months, sometimes a whole year for him to work on their home. From what I hear from our repeat customers, my father is a “legend”. I carry on that same quality reputation today. I began working with my father at a very young age performing basic labor work. I believe I was only 7 years old when I began working on my fathers “clean-up crew”. As I grew older, I began learning the trade of carpentry. My father taught me how to put up house framing for new homes, pour concrete slabs, install roof trusses and roof shingles. When it was time to start learning to build the inside of a home, things got very interesting. I learned to hang drywall, install windows and doors, install flooring and trims including crown moldings. I remember the first crown molding job that I did, after seeing the finished product, I was in love with finish carpentry. From there I went on to learn window and door trims and cabinet installation as well.

Now I have my own contracting company and continue to work with the same mentality that my father had “instilled” into me. He is now retired, but still comes to help out on projects from time to time. But even when he’s not with me, I can hear him saying his famous words, “do it right or don’t do it at all”. I will continue to strive for excellence and keep that mindset in every project that I do.

Contractor recommendation: The Taniguchi’s represent a family of very honest and talented homebuilders. When you view their completed work, you can sense that it has been accomplished with much pride and skilled workmanship.

About 20 years ago, Sinclair designed and built a “Loft” in an unused open space in my home. He built a stained wood stairs and railings which encompassed the Loft and blended well with the existing Ohia pole. Until today most people think the loft is part of the original home.

Most recently, Sinclair, Wren, and their talented crew completed remodeling our kitchen with natural cherry wood cabinets and Silestone counter tops. They also added a laundry room and a 18 ft. x 20 ft. family room addition with a natural cedar ceiling. A job well done.

I have observed this well disciplined crew from the very beginning of the project; from prep and laying of the cement foundation to installing the framework and walls. Each man is always busy and knows precisely what the next evolution will be by pre-staging materials and equipment. Job site safety and cleanliness comes natural with this crew for they habitually clean up during and after work. A very cost efficient crew.

Over the years, I have known Sinclair as a fun neighbor and a honest business person. He has a positive “can do” and “nothing is impossible” attitude.

Sinclair, Wren and crew have completed our remodeling project on time and within my budget. My wife and I are very satisfied and happy that we picked a professional contractor.

My husband and I highly recommend Wren Taniguchi as a contractor for your home.

Wren has proven himself to be highly professional, effient, knowledgeable, thoughtful, patient, and reasonable with his prices.

I initially came in contact with Wren and his father, Sinclair, two years ago when they came over to my house to give me a quote to remodel my kitchen. For various reasons, I was unable to actually get serious about remodeling the kitchen until two years later ( I also added the replacement of our two bathrooms’ vanities ). During this time, Wren checked in with me a couple of times but wasn’t pushy, as some of the other contractors were. When I was finally ready to start the job, Wren was able to fit me into his schedule despite being extremely busy.

I received three quotes from three different contractors for the same job. Wren’s quote was by far the most reasonable. There weren't any “hidden” costs and the prices were in line with what I had expectd. In fact, during the job, Wren included a lot of “extras” that I did not expect and was not charged for.

During the work, Wren and his crew were thoughtful in trying to work around our schedule. Despite the nature of the work (demolishing the previous kitchen), Wren’s crew were surprisingly quiet. No shouting or loud music. They were very meticulous about protecting our belongings adjacent to the work and, after each day, the kitchen and/or bathrooms were cleaned and swept.

We are very please with the quality of the work. We selected beautiful African mahogany cabinets that are hard to come by. Wren was careful not to nick or mark a single piece. The cabinets were set perfectly and the special features we ordered and installed without any issues.

Wren collaborated with all the sub-contractors - cabinet maker, counter top supplier, plumbers, electrician to ensure everything was handled in a timely manner. In our case, we worked directly with the cabinet maker and counter top supplier to order the cabinets and counter tops, but Wren organized the delivery and installation.

Wren was frequently in our home when weren’t here, however, this was not a concern. He and his workers are trustworthy and keep their movements in the house strictly within the boundaries of the workplace, He does not allow any sub-contractors to work without his supervision.

As you can tell from my letter, we are very pleased with out kitchen an bathroom renovations and highly recommend Wren as your contractor. Please feel free to contact me though Wren if you have any questions.

Wren Taniguchi, has been our contractor for the last seven years. During that time he has worked with us on more than eight projects. As a contractor, he is what I consider ideal; he comes to the planning phase with good concepts and knowledge about design and materials. We work together to refine the plan and he presents us with a detailed proposal and estimate.

His work ethic sets a high bar. He comes to the job on time with the plan for the day established. He and his crew work continuously. At the end of the day, the site is cleaned up and all materials neatly stored. As a property owner and manager, I appreciate the consideration he gives to the neighbors and tenants.

The projects he has done for us have included a kitchen and bath renovation, gutting and entire apartment, with new design and installation. Other projects included working with an apartment complex that is over 70 years old, designing and re-building sections that needed emergency repairs and designing better function. He has done new construction for us and is currently preparing for a new build later this year. His knowledge of building requirements, material specifications, best methods, help us plan correctly for the first time. He brings similarly minded sub-contractors to the job.

As someone who has been property management for over 30 years, I want a collaborative relationship with a contractor. Wren is enthusiastic about each project and we work together as a team to create a living space that makes sense and looks good. We research all materials used on a project and Wren uses his experience to guide us in making selections.

I have only used Wren as our contractor since the first job they completed. I have referred many people to him because of the confidence I have in him.

Respectfully,

A. Sasaki / Property Manager
